Dear Aunt B,
Dear Aunt B,
Three times over the weekend, I ran into someone with the same name as a friend of mine who passed away. Once was just being introduced to someone at an event, but then the Uber and the Lyft driver. I found it very odd. Could this be a sign for my friend, or is this just on my mind? I have been thinking about them a lot.
Signed, Missing my Friend
Dear Missing My Friend,
Oh, sweetheart, this isn’t just a coincidence—this is a connection. When the same name popped up three different times, that wasn’t random—it was your friend tapping you on the shoulder from the other side and saying, “Hey. I’m here. I’m with you.”
Spirit doesn’t show up with flashing lights and booming voices (though wouldn’t that be convenient?). They work through the rhythms of our lives—through words, songs, numbers, smells, and moments that stir something deep in our hearts. Synchronicity and signs are Spirit’s version of texting. When we’re open, when we’re listening, those “odd little moments” become the voice of Spirit. Your friend was with you when you heard their name. With you when you laughed. With you in that Lyft and Uber, riding right alongside, letting you know that you are never really alone, not when love is involved, and not when souls are connected beyond this world.
So yes, absolutely—this was a sign. And the more you acknowledge it, the more signs will show up. Keep talking to them. Keep remembering them. They hear you. Let them know you heard them too.
With compassion, Aunt B
